Dave from Ludlow, MA Writes: Pool Parts
Q: Dave from Ludlow, MA writes:
My aboveground swimming pool was here when I bought this house. We know it’s a Teddy Bear aboveground pool and we think it’s about 20 years old. I noticed the bottom channel that the wall sits in is looking pretty bad.
Can I still get parts for this pool or do I need a new pool.

Ok, I cheated and looked up your pool. You have a 1984 Esther Williams 24’ round Classic aboveground swimming pool. Yes you can still get parts and no you don’t need a new pool. In-fact I sell hundreds of these bottom channels online every year all over the country.
What you do need to know is that you have to basically disassemble your entire above ground pool to replace these. Now if you’re handy that may be no problem for you, but if your not you may want to leave it up to the professionals and call our Aboveground Repair Department at 413-594-2666 ext 134. Another thing to consider is your pool liner. Once you remove it from your pool it will shrink and be unusable. So buy a new liner with the channels. And if this is done well that above ground pool can last you another 25 years.

Thanks for your help at the store yesterday, the pool is up and almost full of water. The new liner looks great.

No problem! Don’t forget to balance your water.
